Since writing “Eleven Reasons I Want a Kindle,” a few weeks ago, I’ve found some more information:
Here is a review (mostly positive) on readwriteweb.com. This was written before the device was actually released, and focuses more on the concept than the execution, but it’s still quite interesting.
This article, also on readwriteweb.com, discusses how Daniel Oran, a software developer turned author, has borrowed the concept of beta-testing from the computer world. For 99 cents, he is making the manuscript available in Kindle format, with the hope that readers will give him feedback before he finalizes it for publishing.
On another note, I’m just back from a splendid, three-week Christmas vacation visiting family and friends I haven’t seen since moving to Los Angeles last summer. I also finished several books, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed, and I’ll be working on reviews later this week.
