Author: Michael Connelly
Genre: Crime
Subject: Murder investigation
Rating: ***** (5 Stars)
Summary:
The Black Ice is one of Michael Connelly’s Harry Bosch novels. Each novel stands alone, so you don’t have to read them in order, but you can see a chronological list by clicking here.
The Black Ice begins when narcotics officer Cal Moore is found dead in an apparent suicide. As an investigation into the death of an officer, the case is forwarded directly to LAPD’s elite Robbery/Homicide Division, which quickly writes it off as suicide. Bosch, however, is not so sure, and begins his own “freelance” investigation against departmental orders.
To find out the truth, Bosch looks into some old cases that Moore had been involved with. He spends time on the street with the narcotics squad, investigates the death of a Mexican day-laborer found in a dumpster behind a restaurant, and eventually finds clues that lead him to Mexico, where he uncovers a large scale drug smuggling operation relying on corrupt officials in surprising places. Eventually, Bosch uncovers the startling truth behind Moore’s death, the truth that the LAPD would just as soon not know.
My Thoughts:
I have yet to read a Harry Bosch novel I didn’t like, and The Black Ice is no exception.
Potentially Offensive Content:
Sexual content, action violence, police corruption.

Would you please send me a list of Harry Bosch Novels. I’d like the list so I can order from my Orange County Library, in Orlando. Fl. I’m a great fan of Harry Bosch and Michael Connelly’s. I’m just now starting on The Fifth Witness. It takes a while to get these books, because I have to have Large Print. But it’s worth the wait.
